we drove through some cloud bursts, or maybe drove along with a big cloud burst. For several moments it was difficult to see the road and keep going, but slowing down and proceeding cautiously got us through. AND THEN, there were two rainbows, one in the sky to the north (roughly since I wasn't using a compass) of us and one little further along northeast of us. The first was big and bright; the second more modest but still quite lovely.
What a delightful surprise; sometimes the serendipity nature of an ordinary day can be awesome. The rainbows, naturally, made the day seem extraordinary and brightened the end of the trip and the evening that followed.
The weather in L'il Washington was hot and thinking back on the showers and rainbows reminded me that good things do come around; I just need to wait. And I get lots of practice in waiting.
