glad for the event. Trip to NYC was quite good; had time to visit with my adult children; they had time to visit with each other. We had fine food (some prepared at home, some eaten in restaurants); we had very good entertainment.
Saw some of the Thanksgiving Day parade from my son's office in the Hearst building; going to and from that site provided views that I'd not
specifically seen before. AND, where else would we have seen Ronald McDonald on a chair on a roof (without the requisite McD's)?
And the large Whole Food store in the basement of the Time Warner building . . . don't think of food stores as fun usually, but this one was more interesting than most. Had very good soup and salad there for lunch.
Nice visit to the Guggenheim and an interesting exhibit of Kandinksy paintings. Not everyone's fav, no doubt, but still interesting. Now I know I must return to NYC to see more of the museum's permanent collection.
Wonderful pasta at small Italian place in Village, Max's. If you get to the Village, absolutely try Max's. Good food at good prices.
THEN performance of Billy Elliott Sat nite was quite good. I can say, however, that Times Sq on Sat nite is nearly overwhelming: shoulder to shoulder crowds of people, scurrying along. It isn't that crowded in the malls during Christmas season in K'ville.
SO what wasn't ideal? Me. Trips to NYC require training; one should be physically strong and resilient to enjoy moving around the City, in and out of stores, museums, etc. Now there's the substance of a personal goal.
