it's wonderful when it finally arrives. Girl child and I fly from Nashville this week to NYC to spend Thanxgiving week end with boy child and his wife.
This trip was planned this summer and I ignored it for some time; then the weather cooled, holiday stuff started showing up on TV, in stores, newspapers, etc. Hard to keep the idea at bay with outside forces reminding you; now it's finally time, almost.
Pretty much know what I'm taking with me, all casual clothes and good walking shoes (wait, what if my aging walking shoes just won't cut it?). Gee, hate to buy new shoes, but well if you're going to be walking miles (literally, not an exaggeration) on the streets of NY, it seems pretty important.
Going to see Billy Elliott Sat nite, but we agree that jeans is what to wear. One of the great things about NYC, you can wear anything, and theatre is much less pretentious there.
Planning to see the Village, Chinatown, the Guggenheim and eat lots of good food from variety of places. Going to see Macy's parade live. Maybe good things do come to those who wait.
