Back from trip to NC to visit Big Bro

and, as always, was good trip. I did notice, nonetheless, that travel time is harder on the ol' bod than it used to be. Car does better than I on the trip. No matter the circumstances or conditions, it takes 7-8 hours to get to Little Washington from K'ville. And when I arrive I'm beat.
With Rosey along, I did less driving this time. Which means I could look around at things I wouldn't otherwise notice. There were the sporty BMW's with steering wheels on the right side; since there were two apparently traveling together I wondered if they were being delivered somewhere and why they were being driven, not shipped.
Some driving habits (whatever the type vehicle) are quite interesting to see; truly some people should not have licenses, or be allowed to drive on public roads. Maybe some folk feel that way about me; but, of course, I'm a good driver.
Weather in eastern NC frequently challenges me; the 100 degrees in the shade is hard to take. AND when it's cold there it seems extremely cold. Folks in that part of the country are worried about the pending Atlantic storm season. Since the winter was very cold and the summer has hit full force, they feel it could portend bad storms. My, my I am glad I live on this side of the mountains.
Rosey took train to Richmond from Rocky Mt to visit some of her Dad's family there; seems it was a good visit for her and her bro and sister-in-law. Makes a mom happy to have her kids get along and have good experiences.
Train ride was okay for Rosey; seems, however, that Oliver and his wife encountered delay on trip back to NYC when another train along the way ran over someone (that would be someone on the tracks!). Good grief! That's the kinda stuff you read about but don't see or hear personally. I'm glad they didn't see anything, and only had the delay explained.
Travel is good for ya; I was reminded on this trip that I cannot change someone else. I can only influence myself, and sometimes that ain't easy. Besides, I'm too old for that work; I can only live my life and let others live theirs. Amen and amen.
