is better than NO nice days. Saturday was so very nice. Sunday and today, not so much. But as the pundit said, nice we're having weather.
Spent 2 hrs at blood bank today donating platelets. I do this periodically because I can; not anything special because lots of folks do this. It takes some of my time (which I have a lot of since I have no life to speak of) and you feel like you've done something good. That's worth something.
I'm amassing a nice collection of donate blood t-shirts, too. Wonder if anyone would be suspicious if I gave them as gifts.
Have spent some time reading and movie watching. Saw The Reader last week. Quite powerful, well done and scary. Finished reading Blink, which will help you think about thinking (Rodin may have overstated it); read (actually listened to CD's) Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which I had no expectations for but really liked; am finally reading Committed, which I find interesting and am enjoying. Have 2 Aunt Dimity mysteries awaiting me, along with 2 Ken Follett mysteries on loan from a friend and another Maeve Binchy book; and I also have copy of T E Lawrence that I'm looking forward to getting into.
One thing that rainy days provides is time to read; add to that the inclination to NOT go out in it and I'm all set. A good cup of coffee (or tea depending on mood), a dog or two to sit with you and a good book. It's good.
Save your t-shirts and we can make a quilt out of them. You can even send the shirts off and have a quilt sent back to you. Then, for further good, the quilt could be donated to an action for one cause or another. Maybe even donated to a cancer patient.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be a great fundraiser for blood bank or any agency ......
