brings me to these comments:
(1) bringing scientists into analyzing the Toyota problem may be a good idea; what if those auto computers are little HAL's?
(2) the State leasing office space in Times Sq NYC shouldn't surprise us; if it isn't that it'll be something else. BUT how much space is really needed? AND does it have to be in Times Sq? Maybe Queens or Jersey would work. But then if you try to inject logic into gov't .....
(3) after watching Light in the Piazza on TV this week end, I believe this is one that doesn't hold up well. The delusional mother wants her mentally challenged, but lovely and charming daughter to really have a life so she encourages (to the point of deception) a marriage with a young Italian. The girl's mentally 10 and always will be; the young man will mature from age 23 ...... yeah, I'm analyzing fiction and spending way too much time on it.
(4) the Marx Bros had it right, maybe: " .... there ain't no sanity clause"
(5) money won't buy happiness, but unhappiness could be easier.
