why wouldn't you slow down and take precautions? On the way to work, I passed three (3!) accidents before I got on interstate. I live approximately 3-4 miles from the highway, and these all happened on local and connecting roads. Not blaming the folks in the accidents necessarily -- things happen even when we're careful -- but plenty of folk were hurrying along. Seems like extra care would be a no-brain choice, and the drivers speeding along might have no brains.
In the elevator from the garage, another person mentioned that people can't drive--her morning drive had been punctuated by careless drivers also. It felt good to be at work, dry, having not been in an accident.
Listening to public radio (WUOT rocks!) on the way in, I briefly felt I had passed into the Twilight Zone--Christmas music sung by Bob Dylan. It's at the least unusual, and maybe it's just weird. Thinking I won't buy this album, but glad to be up to date on musicland. I hear something interesting every time I listen to Morning Edition, something I would not have known otherwise. Some of the information is important, some is just interesting trivia. It's fun to drop little pearls into conversations (when they really fit); folks want to know how you know that. You learn quite a bit walking around in the world for more than 60 years; but if you have a good source, you learn even more.
