Ah, the joy of a new heating and cooling system

cannot be overstated. Four days with the new system and my happiness increases. Still figuring out this new-fangled programmable thermostat; but when you look at digital info you feel as if you know the actual temperature in the house.

It cools and heats quickly and thoroughly; my how wonderful. Home at 7:30 last night, noticed the house was rather cool, which I like; the chihuahua doesn't care as much for cool. After I ate and settled into the recliner for Jeopardy and then House MD (!!!!), the poor dog got into my lap and laid up against me, as if to say 'please get me warm'. Then I noticed that it did seem quite cool; checked the thermostat and it was 62 degress, pretty cool even for me and the dog was trembling.

The contractors came back yesterday to check air flows and clearly had tested that temp and had not reset it. I know these guys (company owner was previously a neighbor who had kept the old system going for a veerrrrryyy long time), so I was fine with their coming to the house in my absence and failing to reset the temp was not a huge issue. BUT my smallest roommate was suffering, so I turned the heat on and set it for 72; soon warm air was flowing and the chill was lifting.

After a comfortable night, I left this a.m. with temp registering 72 degrees. Aaaaahhhhh . . . so nice. So I say, let the winter winds and snow come; the dogs and I are gonna be OK.
