Good conversation with smart women is a wonderful

thing, as I was reminded during our book club meeting. Our informal, let's-do-this-for-fun-and-not-lay-on-bunches-of-requirements, book club met over dinner to talk about our last read. This one was my choice (we take turns), and without putting out a lot of effort, I chose True Believer by Nicholas Sparks. Though I like Sparks' I found this one less interesting than previous ones; others felt similarly.

Part of the benefit of the club is we all read something over the course of the months that we may not otherwise have chosen. There've been couple of books few of us got through; there was one none of us got through. Hey, we're doing this for amusement and fellowship; it ain't school.

While I think follow through is important, I don't believe I MUST finish everything I start, maybe especially a book I don't like. AND I've benefitted from insight others bring to the book, the writer, the setting etc. I really like knowing I don't know and don't have to know everything. But don't tell my kids that.

Nice how interacting with others can put stuff in perspective. The only difference between yesterday and today (since I didn't come into a fortune, did not get younger or lose weight and didn't receive divine insight into the mysteries of life) is fellowship with some intelligent and interesting women. But I feel revitalized today.

Thanx, girls!
