and it's wonderful when they do. As mentioned previously here, I had eye surgery to correct a problem with a long name, but not a complicated fix (at least not for me--all I had to do was lay still and wait).
And now I know the result: my vision has improved from 20/50 to 20/25, a very good thing. The thick lens for my left eye is no longer appropriate and the one for my right eye no longer fits either. We've ordered new glasses (one of my big splurges this year!) and just learned they are ready to pick up!
It's rather strange to remove my glasses to see something clearly; but that is what I'm doing on occasion. Matter of fact, the opthamalogist and I had trouble figuring out I couldn't read some lines on the chart because I had my glasses on. Then when I returned to my optometrist for follow up exam, he didn't realize I was reading further down the chart until I pointed it out to him. Hmm, maybe those lines shouldn't same letters in approximately same order?
He is quite pleased, as am I. And it appears we don't have to do anything right now regarding the cataracts. That will, no doubt, come around, but not yet.
And speaking of seeing, reading has become a major part of my days and evenings. I'm very fortunate, read blessed, that I have my sight intact. I could use audio books, but how marvelous it is to peruse the written word.
Yep, that stack of books is more appealing than ever.
