if someone’s renovating space on the floor directly overhead. I work in an office bldg downtown consisting of several floors and many offices. Space on the floor above me is being renovated; there is the matter of on-going bangs, whacks, etc. occurring throughout the work day. Of course, it’s not distracting. Wonder if worker’s comp applies in any way?
Just the other day a co-worker stood up from his workstation and said he wasn’t sure if he was going to visit the restroom or go upstairs to bowl a frame. Well, he’s a clever fellow and that day things sounded like a bowling alley.
It occurred to me this could be one of those ‘government projects’ that could go on interminably. Images of workers sitting on the floor overhead with hammers banging away because someone was paying them to do that, whether there was a purpose or not came to mind. Well, there might be a purpose, but are they intended to achieve something?
There wasn't enough to be frustrated about, so I actually bought lunch from the lunch room in our building. I must say it was the worst chicken and dumplings I’ve ever had. Adding the word 'cheese' to canned potatoes don't make it so. I knew better; I shouldn’t have expected a ‘meal’ from a ‘sandwich shop’ and I shouldn’t complain. Next time I’ll get a sandwich, a simple sandwich. It’s hard to mess up whole wheat bread, turkey slices, lettuce and tomato; I’m sure they could, but it won’t be so easy.
