Returned from NC Wednesday and was so glad

to get home. Travel helps me appreciate my humble home environment. I had a very nice trip to Big Bro's; always enjoy spending time with him and his lovely wife. She's become a sister to me, the one I didn't have; we laugh a lot, we disagree about stuff, we sympathize over problems, we share about kids.

Big Bro and I agree on almost nothing politically and expressions of his adamant beliefs sometimes push me to respond vehemently. Then I cool down and we can talk about some things. I should be quiet and listen to his point of view and consider both pros and cons. He doesn't get riled; I get very riled. He is 72 and has mellowed; I'm still in process. I have to disengage at times.

That stuff isn't as important, however, as being siblings, sharing a background and familial experiences. I love him very much; he's a wonderful big brother.

I'm glad that the trip was quiet and uneventful; this is, no doubt, a sign of my own aging. Seven-eight hours each way driving can be quite tiring. When I got back to K'town I went straight to The Rush and worked out in the pool. That is the perfect way to relax after a trip. Pool was cloudy and somewhat cool, but it didn't matter; it felt so wonderful to stretch out and work up a sweat. Clearly, I must return regularly for the mental and physical benefits. Looking forward to Sat a.m. water class for a real work out.
